Chief Human Resource Manager (CHRO) Lithuania

A fast-growing international provider in the maritime and renewables industry is looking for a Chief Human Resource Manager (CHRO) to lead the next stage of HR function development. The company operates in the maritime sector with a strong focus on high-quality service, global operations, a semi-flat organization, and a practical, no-nonsense mentality. The business currently employs around 850 people globally and is actively developing its presence across international offices. This is a hands-on leadership role for a person who can combine international recruitment, HR process structuring, compliance, and team development from Day 1.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, structuring, and optimization of the company’s international HR function and procedures;
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for both shore-based and office-based staff across all Orca Group companies;
  • Ensure full employment contract compliance with MLC 2006, Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), and local labor laws across different payrolls and countries;
  • Standardize HR workflows, contract templates, and personnel file management systems;
  • Implement and conduct structured evaluation, performance feedback loops, and career development meetings;
  • Oversee and improve employee well-being programs, health insurance, remote work policies, and OHS regulation implementation across different offices;
  • Monitor and report on key recruitment and HR metrics, including time-to-fill, retention rate, nationality mix, and cost-per-hire;
  • Work closely with the director, managing director, CFO, operations, and accounting teams;
  • Support the group’s international  and cross-border teams with immediate project engagement.

Requirements:

  • 5–10 years of proven track record in a similar HR management role;
  • Practical understanding of end-to-end recruitment, international labor compliance, and structured performance systems;
  • Experience in setting up HR structure and procedures from scratch will be a strong advantage;
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining highly hands-on in daily execution;
  • Strong result orientation, initiative, and ability to work effectively without a strict corporate hierarchy;
  • Understanding of key recruitment metrics, labor market trends, wage benchmarks, and regulatory changes;
  • Fluent English and Lithuanian language skills, with professional Russian being a strong benefit;
  • Willingness to work full-time from the Klaipėda office (with occasional international business trips).

Offer:

  • Competitive remuneration with a gross monthly salary ranging from EUR 4300, depending on the candidate’s seniority and experience;
  • Performance-based end-of-year bonus system linked to board decisions and expectation metrics;
  • Comprehensive additional benefits, including health insurance, sports club membership, and free food;
  • Opportunity to lead a brand-new, highly impactful international HR structuring project;
  • Real influence on company procedures, HR strategy, and international growth;
  • A dynamic business environment with short decision-making lines and an approachable management style;
  • Provision of necessary resources (computer, phone) and potential relocation support for the first year.
